WHO WE ARE: World’s Attic is a non-profit, 501-(C)(3) thrift shop operating under Mennonite Central Committee(MCC).  We started in 2001 but were incorporated in 2007.

 

Our MISSION STATEMENT:  World’s Attic, is a Sarasota thrift shop, whose goal is to show love and compassion for all in the name of Jesus Christ, by responding to basic human needs and working for peace and justice.  By providing inexpensive products and services, we serve the community; are good stewards of the environment, all while working as an organization that supports Mennonite Central Committee, a world-wide Anabaptist ministry. 

 

About the work of MCC: We are one of 106 thrift stores in the MCC Thrift Network.  Mennonite Central Committee, a worldwide ministry of Anabaptist churches, shares God’s love and compassion for all by responding to basic human needs and working for peace and justice.  They provide disaster relief, provide fresh water, training, peace-building and so much more.

World’s Attic likes to give back locally. We give financially to local non-profits every month that help others. Local groups like Gator Wilderness Camp,  Prodigal Daughters, Mother’s Helping Mothers, Hope for Communities and more.  Another way to give back is provide Vouchers for Salvation Army clients that are coming off the streets to be “re-homed” to help outfit their new homes.  We will give a complete outfit of clothing to anyone in need.  We also send any of our leftover goods to local ministries or to a Haitian mission in Belle Glade Florida.
